What to expect

This is Manchester’s biggest Comic Con, so expect the Convention Centre to be packed with colourful characters. The event will likely be a sell out on both days, so get your tickets now if you haven’t already – they went on sale in March, where were you? Amongst some other great guests, Michael Rooker from Guardians of the Galaxy has been confirmed, expect a long wait wait for photos and autographs.

Top tips

There are lots of great options for travel into Manchester – we would always recommend using the train and/or Metrolink. Parking is always more trouble than it’s worth plus it’s also a lot of fun seeing people’s faces when you ride on public transport in your Cosplay.

We of course understand that some costumes may require that you don’t wear your most comfortable shoes. But if you can, do so, you can thank us later.

Modern day Comic con can be overwhelming with huge brands and companies all scrambling for a piece of the action, so make sure you dig deep and find time to search out the smaller traders, illustrators and writers.

Inside Manchester Central will be lots of food trucks and fast food options, be prepared to pay a premium for those. If you don’t fancy that, worry not, you’re in the middle of a City and Manchester has lots of food options just 5-10 minutes walk away – we would encourage you to explore this option.

Due to the time of year, the costumes you guys wear and the building itself, expect it to get a little hot and sweaty in there, don’t say we didn’t warn you – take plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Don’t forget your costume

Comic Con is the perfect place to show off your Cosplay and meet like minded Cosplayers who you can form life long friendships with. If you are in need of some inspiration for a costume, hit the link here.
